TAMA Art University Alumni Association's NY Club was established in 2003. In 2013, we celebrated our 10-year anniversary. We currently have a membership of nearly 80: mostly Tristate area residents plus some residents of Japan. 25 member artists will participate in this exhibition.
HAFH is an acronym of Home Away From Home. There are two meanings, two points to this title. The first is to be conscious of our identity. The other is to present creations that break through our own barriers by making our efforts in New York, the center of the world’s art market.
The first HAFH Exhibition was in 2004; this is the ten HAFH exhibition. HAFH has earned a top reputation as a fully fascinating exhibition where participating artists display their unique expressions and sensibilities.
It has been held in many locations, including galleries in Chelsea and the Hammond Museum in North Salem, New York. The exhibitors have tried various challenges each time. In the Tenri Gallery, which became the exhibition place from 2012, their large space and a high ceiling give exhibitors the possibility of a further challenge.
The exhibition is accompanied by a fully illustrated 10th anniversary catalogue with visuals and texts by club members. All of us sincerely appreciate your attendance.

多摩美術大学校友会ニューヨーククラブは2003年に発足し、昨年で10周年を迎えました。会員はトライステイトエリア在住者を中心に、日本からの加入者も含め約80名を数えています。本展には、その内25名が参加します。
「Home Away From Home」は、「故郷を離れた故郷」 という意味です。このタイトルには二つの意図が込められています。一つ目は、故郷から離れた生活は、私達が後にしてきた「日本」をより意識し、アイデンティティを自覚すること。もう一つは、ニューヨークという世界のアートマーケットの中心での研鑽がもたらす、自らの殻を破るような、創造の成果の発表を目指すことです。
HAFH展は、2004年から始まり、今回は記念すべき10回目。本展は毎年、幅広い年代のアーティストが集まり、統一された作風ではなく、個々それぞれの表現方法と感性を持った個性溢れる作品展です。
本展は10回目に至るまで、チェルシーのギャラリー、ノースセーラムにあるハモンド美術館など様々な会場で開催され、出品者はその都度、様々な試みを行って参りました。2012年より会場となった天理ギャラリーは、その広いスペースと、高い天井が、出品者にさらなる挑戦の可能性を与えています。
会場ではクラブの10年に渡る活動を記念し制作された記念本も販売致します。
